APPRECIATE THE LITTLE POSITIVES
APPRECIATE THE LITTLE POSITIVES
So, I shared a video a few days ago that went viral!
It was a video about New Zealand and how amazing this country is. Some Kiwis couldn’t stop talking about how much they disagree with some of the things said in the video. In fact, even though snakes are very rare here, some said that we have lots in the parliament! Hmmm!
.
.
Okay, let’s get this straight, no country is perfect and you would only appreciate what you have when you go to other countries and experience how they live.
I have had the privilege of living in two major countries and I have had the opportunity to visit other developed countries including Singapore and Australia and dare I say that New Zealand stands out beautifully.
Guess what? This is exactly how marriage is sometimes. We think the grass is greener on the other side and feel that our spouse is not good enough and focus so much on the spouse’s weaknesses that we see no good thing in that spouse or the marriage.
While other people are wishing they were in your shoes with that spouse, you want out of the marriage because you think other people have it better… if only you knew what they also are going through.
At the end of the day, you may not truly appreciate that spouse you have until you lose them! Getting married to someone else also doesn’t guarantee a better marriage.
.
.
Whichever country you find yourself in, be grateful and maximise your potentials there. If you have to relocate, be sure it is where God wants you to be so that what happened to Elimelech (in the Bible - the husband of Naomi who lost everything including his life and his sons due to relocation) doesn’t happen to you.
If you are married, appreciate the little positives your spouse has and focus on it because what you focus expands.
I hope this helps you.
