DON'T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAM
DON'T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAM
Some years ago when I wrote JAMB, I scored 222. I was devastated! I knew it was impossible for me to get into my dream course Medicine with such a score.
I was more upset with myself for letting down my mother who had spent a lot of money on JAMB lessons with nothing to show for it.
However, one thing I remember was my mother did not give up on me, she never showed her disappointment even though I believe she must have been gutted.
Instead, she thought about how to help me achieve my dream. Next thing I knew, she had enrolled me into Cambridge A levels! Thank God I passed that one and got into Medicine eventually after two years!
Today, all of it is history!
Why have I shared this?
Never give up on your dream just because you failed. That failure does not define you! Instead, let your dream inspire you to get up and try again.
There is always a way out! Failure is just a bend, it is not the end. Find a way to make your dreams come true, don’t settle for a lesser course or a lesser career! Information is powerful!
When you fail, speak up and speak out! Ask for help and you are likely to get pointed in the right direction.
The end is always beautiful. Today, I am practising as a doctor in New Zealand but the journey has not been easy as I’ve encountered even more failures!
I just wanted to encourage someone going through a hard time, you will come out stronger! God is with you, He is for you .
This too shall pass!
