MY HUSBAND SURPRISED ME
MY HUSBAND SURPRISED ME

Recently, my husband surprised me with a mini honeymoon!
He had arranged to take me to a major tourist city in New Zealand! Not only that, he had organised some exhilarating activities for us to do together! No kids! Just us! We felt like newlyweds.
I was full of so much joy, very pleased with him. Which wife wouldn’t be?
However, this was actually our first Honey moon since we got married! You see, we didn’t have much at all when we were getting married.
I was not working; he was earning very little. In fact, we had a lot of misunderstandings when we were planning our wedding because he could not make my dream wedding happen and I was very upset.
I had imagined a fantasy wedding with my 7 -tier cake in a fountain. I also had my Honeymoon destination to Dubai but it never came to pass because we could not afford it.
My husband would say “If we spend all our money on your dream wedding, we would come go to New Zealand and drink garri while paying debts too”.
I had to choose my battles wisely and settled for an affordable wedding. Although, he promised to make our 10th anniversary glamorous. It’s not even 10 years yet that he did this.

.
Why have I shared this?
1. Don’t stress too much about your dream wedding if you can’t afford it.
2. A successful marriage is more important than a successful wedding.
3. Don’t start your marriage with debts. It would put a lot of strain on both of you.
4. Don’t compare your partner, relationship or marriage with others. Comparing steals your joy.
5. Don’t lose a great guy because you of his current financial state. Tomorrow would be better.
I hope this inspires someone?
God bless you.
