My husband and I frequently say to each other - ‘Babe, I love our friendship’.

Once we are together or over the phone, we would talk and talk and move from one topic to the next brainstorming, rubbing ideas, envisioning our future, strategising, gisting, cracking jokes, laughing, gossiping, playing and lots more. In fact, we have to intentionally stay away from each other in order to get work done .

Even though we met online and had a long-distance relationship, one of the secrets of the success of our marriage today is that we have a solid friendship. Back in those days, since we couldn’t see each other, we communicated everyday and developed great friendship.

Singles, marry your friend and become best friends.

Marriage is sweet when you marry someone who you can be yourself with and be vulnerable with.

Most importantly, distance is not a barrier to developing great friendship. Distance means so little when someone means so much.
